No fewer than 120 events will be taking place in the city over the course of the year, more than one a day! The events, most of which are free of charge, are proposed by all the cultural and associative players in Blois. The aim is to bring the city to life during lt, to bring Blésois and tourists together, and to enable them to discover their city in a different way.
Full program
Check out the full program for the 2023 Des Lyres dt festival!
With traditional highlights such as the guinguette at La Creusille from July 5 to 9, 2023, and the big concert on July 13, also at La Creusille. Likewise, Blois danse, the Jeux d'Orgues festival and the farmer's market are all present, as are the Figas and La connexion festivals for younger audiences.
Would you like to dance
After their success in 2022, the big balls are back with a vengeance this year, but with a different kind of dance: cumbia, folk, musette or Latino will hold no more secrets for you at the end of the season! The formula remains the same: 1 hour of initiation (7:30 p.m.), followed by two hours of frenzied dancing to the rhythm of the musicians! It's up to you to decide whether you'd prefer to come in ballroom or street clothes!
Make way for the landscape
Another 2022 initiative to be repeated in 2023, the landscape accompaniments are an opportunity to appreciate the landscape, cradled by pomes or to the sound of music. Sunset at La Creusille (Friday, July 28, 9:30 pm), full moonrise (Tuesday, August1, 8:30 pm at the lvech gardens), la nuit des toiles (Friday, August 11, 9 pm at La Creusille) or sunrise (Sunday, August 27, 6:45 am at the lvch gardens), all you have to do is sit back and let the magic happen.
Family Sundays
Another theme is the family-friendly shows: street theater, music, circus and more. They take place on July 23, August 6 and 20 at 6pm at the Saint-Saturnin theater, and are a great opportunity to get to know this remarkable site.
Other events include the summer night market, held every Thursday evening (except July 13) at 5 p.m. from rue des Jacobins to place tienne-Gaudet, rue Saint-Lubin and part of
to place Louis-XII. The market features arts and crafts, local produce, entertainment and, this year, prt-porter, decoration and more.
There's also a festive weekend from July 27 to 29 as part of the Promenades photographiques, with some great musical discoveries to look forward to. There will also be two whimsical downtown parades on July 12(Les Cupidons) and August 25(Les contre-visites guides). There's entertainment in the air!
Photographic walks in Blois
This is the flagship event of the 2023 season: the arrival in Blois of Promenades photographiques, a festival that combines documentary and contemporary photography by exhibiting them in various venues in and around the city. After 18 years in the Vendmois, this is a new departure for the event, which keeps its editorial line but invests new spaces on the theme of the movement E pur si muove!
("And yet it turns!" Galile's phrase about the Earth).
The program includes 15 exhibitions at nine venues in Blois (Fondation du doute gardens and pavilion, Abb-Grgoire library, Htel de Ville, Musum, Le Capitole, salle Josphine-Baker, pavillon Anne-de-Bretagne, jardins de lvch) and four towns along the Loire (Mer, Mnars, Saint-Dy- sur-Loire, Mont-prs-Chambord).
A must-discover: the pass formula makes pricing deliberately accessible to as many people as possible.
Springboard
To help young photographers make a name for themselves, the Mark-GrossetSAIF prize, awarded by a jury of professional photographers, is open to young photographers from 22 international photography schools. Similarly, the Campus is providing a 10-day workshop for some thirty students to produce a photographic film, which will be screened on July 27 during the Jours de ftes festival: from July 27 to 29, the artists will meet the public for exhibition tours and lecture sessions.

Lescalier Denis-Papin at the rendezvous
As a welcome to the 19th Promenades photographiques, the town has chosen to showcase the photo collage work of Greek artist duo Frank Moth. The collage is entitled En taimant, mon monde s'est panoui. These artists are notably the authors of the illustration for the 2023 poster of the Rendez-vous de l'Histoire, which will take place in October. See them until the Rendez-vous de l'histoire weekend from October 4 to 8, on the theme The Living and the Dead.
Music at the Royal Castle
Launched in 2022, the Music chteau concerts have found their audience: Blsoises, Blsois and tourists have come to appreciate these late afternoons when the Chteau is closed, and you can sit on the deckchairs in the gardens of the Foix terrace and enjoy an exceptional view of the Chteau and the Loire while listening to music.
The 2023 edition is here, with a highly varied musical program: folk, rock, New Orleans jazz, gospel and polyphonic singing, you'll be back for more! Rendezvous every Friday from June 16 to August 25, 7:15pm (except July 7 and 14) in the gardens of the Foix terrace.
For game lovers, the escape game La folle vasion de Marie de Mdicis has taken over the Chateau's exhibition rooms: will you be able to help the queen escape from the Chateau? Until September 9, Saturdays 2 pm and 3:45 pm, minimum 8 people. Duration: 60 minutes.
Magic
On the occasion of its 25th anniversary, the Maison de la Magie renews itself! Cabaret, an indie show created just for the occasion, plunges you into an Art Deco cabaret: in the dressing rooms, the performers don costumes and make-up. When the performance begins, the surprises begin! Disappearance, appearance, and finally a partner cut in half! For the audience, it's a total immersion in the other side of the stage. (Duration: 30 minutes, 3 4 performances per day).
The Grandes Illusions room has been refurbished to give pride of place to interactivity and to showcase new items from the Maison's collections. With the help of videos, you'll be able to perform the great tricks of levitation or the woman cut in half.
Full program on the Maison de la magie website and information by phone (02 54 90 33 33).
Frique
At nightfall, the courtyard of the Chateau lights up to reveal the history of this multi-faceted building. Since 2018, this sound and light show has been using new technologies combining immersive special effects and monumental projections based on the architecture of the site: remixed music, spatialized voices, vido mapping, overlaying of actual filming scenes, and more. In turn, the Chateau crumbles, shakes in the face of Catherine de Mdicis, or animates the Duc de Guise. Across the court's four facades, loves, dramas and secrets twirl in a sound and visual mise-en-scène as captivating as it is strikingly realistic: a unique 360-degree spectacle.
Every evening from 10:30 pm, details on the Chteau royal website.
Lt in neighborhoods
While the original project was aimed at residents of the northern districts for a one-week period, the current Quartiers dt formula has grown to include all districts of Blois and lasts all summer long. The aim To offer activities for those who don't go away. Free events that foster social ties, promote diversity and encourage encounters between generations. A formula that was a resounding success last year and will be repeated this year.
More than forty events are scheduled: sports, shows, photo rallies, cinema, games, and even a few outings outside Blois. The program has been concocted since the beginning of the year by various city departments, joined by sports and cultural associations, dance clubs, neighborhood associations and more. Each and every one of them is mobilized to propose times when conviviality is the order of the day. A wide variety of activities for a family audience, in conjunction with Des Lyres dt.
Among the highlights, don't miss the official launch day on Monday July 10 at Espace Jorge-Semprun from 4:30 pm. You'll be able to take part in a wide range of sports, games and family activities, not forgetting a refreshment bar! The event will close with a gospel concert at 8 p.m.
For young teens, the Skate Contest takes place on Saturday July 8 at the Place Moser skate park. And let's not forget the District Challenge, in its3rd edition, which will offer members of youth centers the chance to test their physical fitness, dexterity and quiz skills. Rendezvous at Plaine Kennedy on Thursday, July 20.
